Notice Regarding Extension of Licenses
The State of Disaster Emergency, as extended by the State Finance Council on January 6, 2021, will expire on January 26, 2021. Therefore all complete renewal applications for licenses expired or set to expire between March 12, 2020 and January 26, 2021, as well as any required continuing education, will be considered timely if received by the Board on or before January 26, 2021. However, the Board will consider the renewal application late and the license invalid if received after January 26, 2021.
Important Updates to K.A.R. 66-8-3 and K.A.R. 66-14-1
Kansas has decoupled! Professional Engineer applicants may now test before meeting the four-year experience requirement. All requirements must be completed before licensure.
K.A.R. 66-14-1 now requires that 24 of the required 30 CEUS be related to health, safety, property and welfare (HSPW). Licensees may not obtain more than 10 CEUS in any 24-hour period. Five self-study CEUS are allowed with proof of course completion. Kansas rules and regulations must be met to satisfy the continuing education requirement.

ACCESS TO THE ONLINE RENEWAL PORTAL
The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions would like to remind everyone that only the licensee should be accessing his or her renewal portal. Please note that allowing others to access the portal on your behalf may result in discipline to your license. Please be advised the Principal in Responsible Charge should be the only employee accessing the businesses' renewal portal.
