Architects
- The Board does not accept electronic signatures or scanned copies of applications.
- All submissions must have a wet signature to be processed by the Board.
- Handwritten or incomplete forms will not be accepted.
- Pending applications and any supporting documents will be kept on file for one calendar year.
Architect by Exam
Requirements:
- Completed Application Form
- Non-refundable Application Fee of $60.00
- NCARB Record transmitted by NCARB OR submit the following:
- Transcripts
- Architectural Experience
- Professional References
- Verification of Exams

Architect by Reciprocity
Requirements:
- Completed Application Form
- Non-refundable Application Fee of $250.00
- NCARB Certificate transmitted by NCARB OR submit the following:
- Transcripts
- Architectural Experience
- Professional References
- Verification of Exams
- Verification of licensure in another jurisdiction

Additional Forms for Licensed Individuals
Application for Reinstatement
If your Kansas Architect license has lapsed or been cancelled, you must complete the Reinstatement Application. The fee is $100.
Return to Practice Application
If your Architect license has been on Inactive status, you must complete the Return to Practice Application to change your license to Active status. Continuing education is required for Active status.
Emeritus Status Application
An Architect who chooses this status may not practice in Kansas, however they may use their professional title in conjunction with the word "emeritus." No renewal required.
