Exam Information

NCEES Exam
:
The NCEES exam is administered in Topeka, KS by NCEES. NCEES mails exam admittance letters directly from their office 2-3 weeks before the exam.  Professional Engineer (PE) exams are 8 hours in length with a one-hour lunch. The Structural Exam (SE) is a 16-hour exam administered over two 8-hour days with an hour lunch each day. You must present your admittance letter and a government issued ID to be admitted each day. Please note that you are not allowed to enter and test without them. Please review the NCEES calculator policy on acceptable calculator models. Please note that exam scores are released to the Board 8-10 weeks after the administration of the exam.

ASBOG Exam:
ASBOG exams are administered in Topeka, KS by KSBTP. The Fundamentals of Geology (FG) exam is a four-hour exam administered in the morning the day of the exam. The Professional Geology (PG) exam is a four-hour exam administered in the afternoon on the day of the test. Applicants are allowed to sit for both exams with prior approval.  Exam admittance letters are mailed from the Board office 2-4 weeks in advance of the scheduled test. Please be prepared to provide your exam admittance letter and ID upon arrival. Please note exam scores are released to the Board 8-10 weeks after the administration of the exam.

 Re-Testing

Please note that any applicant who is admitted to an examination and who either does not appear for the exam or cancels must again pay the fee and reschedule for a different exam date. Exam fees are non-refundable. Notifying the Board as soon as possible that you will miss your exam is appreciated.

Applicants that fail the exam after their third attempt (or more) should write to the Board requesting an additional exam attempt. Please provide an explanation regarding your additional efforts to pass the exam. Your letter will then be discussed at the next Board meeting.
